Daiamami returns to Juryo he previously held a rank at in January this year.

Mudoho is the first Rikishi from Otake Stable to make his Juryo debut since Oho in Hatsu 2021. He is the 55th Rikishi from Tokyo to achieve this post WWII. The previous one had been Hatsuyama who was promoted this January.

Mita is the first Rikishi from Futagoyama Stable to be promoted to Juryo since Nabatame in July last year. He is the 12th Rikishi from Tochigi Prefecture to achieve this post WWII, following Wakanosho, promoted this March. Additionally he is the 15th graduate of Kindai University to achieve this, following Nishikifuji, who had been promoted in September 2020.

Miyanokaze is the first Rikishi from Nakamura Stable to reach Juryo since Kayo, who had been promoted in July last year. He is the eight Riksihi from Okinawa Prefecture to achieve this, following Kayo. Additionally, Miyanokaze is the 17th former student of Nippon Sport Science University to achieve this. The previous one was also Kayo.

Tamashoho returns to Makuuchi. He previously held a rank here in January this year.

Roga returns to Makuuchi. He previously held a rank here in January this year.

Tochitaikai is the first Rikishi from Kasugano Stable to be promoted to Makuuchi since Tochinowaka in the May 2011 basho. He is the 12th Rikishi from Saitama Prefecture post WWII to make it to Makuuchi. The previous one was Abi in January of 2018.

Kayo is the first Rikishi from Nakamura Stable to be promoted to Makuuchi since the current Shisho founded it. He is the sixth Riksihi from Okinawa Prefecture to achieve this, the previous being Churanoumi, who was promoted in November 2023. Additionally, Kayo is the 13th former student of Nippon Sport Science University to achieve this. The previous one being Asakoryu, who was promoted in the November tournament of last year.

Wakatakakage returns to Komosubi, a rank he most recently held in Hatsu of this year.

Takayasu returns to Komusubi. He previously held this rank during Hatsu 2024.

Daieisho stays Sekiwake for his fourth consecutive tournament. Further, this is his sixth consecutive tournament in the Sanyaku.
